Starting at our setting
The first days
We want your child to feel happy and safe with us. To make sure that this is the case, the staff will work with you to decide on how to help your child to settle into the setting. The setting has a policy about helping children to settle into the setting. We recommend children bring a named bag containing, nappies & wipes (if required) & a change of clothes, this bag can remain in pre-school & staff will inform you when items are running low.
Clothing and personal effects
We provide protective clothing for the children when they play with messy activities.
We encourage children to gain the skills that help them to be independent and look after themselves. These include taking themselves to the toilet and taking off - and putting on - outdoor clothes. Clothing that is easy for them to manage will help them to do this.
We have Kiddie Cats Pre-School T-shirts and Sweatshirts available to purchase for your child to wear. They are easy wash, easy care and are perfect to wear to Pre-School. They are sold at cost and no profit is made by the Pre-School. We do encourage parents to purchase these items as some of our activities are very messy!
Each child will have their own named coat hook and personal drawer in which to keep their work. Your child’s ‘Learning Journey’ folder can also be found in this drawer.
FAQ's
How will I be invoiced?
All invoices are sent out the 1st week of every month, invoices include our bank details for BACS payments, we also accept payment in cash, vouchers or the governments Tax Free Childcare scheme.
Where do I put my bag?
On the hooks in the corridor.
Where do I put my coat?
On the coat pegs on the left as you come through the main door, under the parents notice board.
Where do I put my name tag?
On the radiator by the drawers. When playing out on the main door.
Where is the toilet?
We have our own toilet in the pre-school room.
Where do I wash my hands?
A sink, soap and paper towels can be found in our pre-school toilet.
Where will I find my water bottle?
Waters bottles are located on the table by the main door, please ask any member of staff to help refilling it.
Where do we play outside?
In the playground or on the grass if it’s not too wet, if it’s raining in the large hall or the basement play area.
Where do I have snack and lunch?
We have snack & lunch in the room. You will be helped by a member of staff & your name ticked on their sheet, so we know you’ve had snack/a drink.
Where do I put my drawings & other things to take home?
You will have a drawer with your name on in the room.
